SAFE REEFER SOCKET
INTRODUCTION
•When the reefer containers arrive at terminal or the ship, have to be connected to the electrical supply.
•For this they have an electrical cable that ends in a plug for connecting to the reefer socket.
•The disconnection of this plug is manual. While charging, the plug is mechanically locked to the socket.
•Current reefer socket are thought as a mechanism fixed.
PROBLEMS
• The current operation frequently causes a feefer container to move without disconnecting. As the various elements are interlocked, a break occurs in the hose, in the plug or in the reefer socket.
• This break appear with the electrical system on load. With risk of electric arc, short circuit and its consequences.
GOAL
Our goal is to desing an electrical socket specially designed for powering reefer containers.
The socket terminals will no be part of the fixed link, but may be aligned wit the pulling force of the hose.
Our socket will permit:
- That the power supply is disconnected before removing the plug from the reefer socket.
- That the reefer socket aligns with the mechanically pulled.
- That the plug comes out of the reefer socket when pulling the hose.
- Of course, the health and safety conditions provided for current regulations for electrical system, working outdoors and manually operated.
Adjustable and auto-disconnectable reefer socket
